The Midwest Industries T-Series Combat Rail is a no-nonsense, one-piece free-float quad rail for AR-platform builds that need mounting space on every side. You get a continuous Mil-Spec M1913 Picatinny surface running down all four faces, so whether you're a laser, a light, a forward grip, or a bipod kind of person, there's room for all of it. The whole thing is machined from 6061 aluminum and wears a Type 3 hard coat anodized finish, which is the kind of coating that shrugs off years of range trips and rough handling.
Every corner and edge on this handguard has been dehorned and deburred, so there's nothing to bite into your support hand during a long day of shooting. That matters more on a quad rail than most people expect, since bare Picatinny edges can get sharp fast. The free-float design means the rail never touches your barrel, which helps your rifle hold a more consistent zero and lets you lean on the handguard without pulling shots. The slim extrusion runs a 1.3-inch inner diameter and stays rigid enough to trust with an aiming laser or a magnifier setup.
Two anti-rotation QD sling swivel sockets are built into the rear, so you can run a two-point or single-point sling without adding an extra mount. Combine that with four sides of rail and you've got a lot of freedom to lay out your build exactly how you like it before you ever screw anything down.
This is one of the easier free-float systems to put on. It ships with the barrel nut, the patented heat-treated torque plate, and the barrel nut wrench, so you're not hunting for proprietary tools. You'll still want a proper torque wrench to set the barrel nut correctly, and if you'd rather not deal with a vise and punches, a gunsmith can knock the install out quickly. Once it's locked down, the anti-rotation tabs keep it from shifting, and it's built entirely in the USA.
Yes. It ships with the barrel nut, the heat-treated torque plate, and the barrel nut wrench you need for the job. You'll want to supply your own torque wrench to set the barrel nut to spec, and a vise makes the process a lot smoother.
It's designed for AR-platform rifles with standard forged upper receivers. Billet uppers vary quite a bit in their dimensions, so if you're running a billet upper it's worth checking with that manufacturer before ordering. It is not intended for gas piston systems.
A quad rail gives you continuous Picatinny mounting surface on all four sides, so accessories can go just about anywhere without needing separate rail sections. The T-marked positions also make it easy to remove and reinstall gear in the exact same spot every time. It's a great match for older Picatinny-mount lasers, lights, and grips.
It can. Because the rail attaches at the barrel nut and never touches the barrel, pressure on the handguard from a sling, bipod, or your support hand won't tug on the barrel and shift your point of impact. That translates to more consistent zero retention on the range or in the field.
