The factory Benelli M4 forend gets the job done, but when it comes to hanging lights, grips, or optics mounts, your options are pretty thin. That's exactly the gap the Mesa Tactical Truckee forend fills. It replaces the stock handguard with a sleek 6061-T6 aluminum body that carries industry-standard M-LOK slots along the sides and bottom, so you can build out your M4 however you run it.
This is the 8.5-inch version, and it's the easy one of the bunch. It slides onto any Benelli M4 in seconds with no tools needed, and it stays put on the barrel even when you strip the gun for cleaning. When you want to get into the gas system, it pops off just as fast at the bench or out in the field. The longer 11 and 15-inch models make you pull the factory front sling loop, so the 8.5-inch keeps things simple if you'd rather not mess with snap-ring pliers.
The M-LOK layout is the real draw here. You can bolt on Picatinny rail sections, dedicated light mounts, vertical grips, or any other M-LOK accessory you already own. It's a nice step up in versatility over the older SureFire M80 rail forend that got discontinued, and it does it without turning your M4 into a boat anchor. The aluminum build stays light while the heat-treated finish holds up to hard use.
Mesa Tactical finishes the Truckee with high-temperature glass-filled nylon polymer endcaps, which is a smart touch given how hot a shotgun forend can get. The whole thing is machined and assembled in the USA and backed by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. One thing worth noting: if you've got a Benelli M4 LE edition, you may need a few extra Benelli parts (a spring ring, washer, and spring washer) to complete the install, and those come straight from Benelli rather than in the box.
