The TIMBR Core Kit for the Remington 700 short-action right-hand receiver is built around an aluminum micro-chassis with a V-block bedding system, so your action seats into a rigid metal platform instead of flexing wood. The result is repeatable action fit and consistent groups without a single trip to the gunsmith. This particular kit comes in Green Mountain Camo, a layered birch laminate that shrugs off temperature swings and humidity far better than solid walnut, which makes it a solid pick for hunters who beat on their gear.
The magic here is that aluminum bedding block. It locks the barreled action in place so you skip the traditional bedding job entirely. Drop your action in, torque the two action screws, and you are ready for the range. Most Remington-pattern actions only need a 5/32 Allen key to install. The forend uses a Proof Sendero barrel channel profile, which means it clears heavy contour barrels that most wood stocks choke on.
Despite the classic wood look, the geometry is thoroughly modern. You get a 68-degree grip angle, a raised comb that lines your eye up behind an optic, and a flatter bottom that rides a rear bag cleanly. The length of pull adjusts through an included spacer system, and textured stippling on the grip and forend keeps your hands planted. Rear and dual forend QD sling studs let you run a bipod and a carry sling at the same time, whether you are hiking in or setting up prone.
Because this is the Kit version, the MDT CORE bottom metal is included, so you have AICS magazine compatibility from the moment it lands on your bench. Run polymer or metal AICS mags in whatever capacity you like. MDT put the design through 15,000-plus rounds of simulated fire, salt bath humidity testing, deep freeze cycles, heat soaks, and drop testing, so this is a wood stock that earns its keep in real hunting weather.
This is the Kit version, so the MDT CORE bottom metal is included in the box. That means you have AICS magazine compatibility right away without sourcing a separate bottom metal. The stock on its own does require a bottom metal to feed, so buying the kit saves you a step.
