What Makes the MBA-1 Worth Bolting On

The heart of this kit is the MBA-1 modular buttstock itself, made from glass filled nylon that stays tough without piling on weight. The whole assembly tips the scales at right around 1.26 pounds, roughly half of what a lot of competing adjustable stocks weigh. You get an adjustable cheek rise that lifts up to an extra inch for a solid cheek weld behind raised optics, plus a length of pull that extends about 1 1/16 inches using the extended buttplate. The cheek piece doesn't just move up and down either, it slides fore and aft, and it's fully ambidextrous so lefties and righties both get dialed in.

Setting Up Your MBA-1 Buffer System

This kit ships complete with the A2 buttstock extension tube, a standard buffer, and a .223/5.56 buffer spring, so the buffer math is already handled for you. Keep in mind this is a fixed rifle-length setup and won't fit collapsible carbine tubes with the six-position telescoping design.
