What makes the Maxim CQB design stand out is how it works. There are no buttons to fumble with. You just grab the stock and pull it out to deploy, then push it back to collapse. It telescopes along a pair of steel guide rods rather than the usual buffer-tube-and-notch setup, which is what lets Maxim keep the whole thing so short when it's tucked in. Collapsed, the full CQB stock only adds a hair over five inches to the back of an AR-15, and at full extension it's right around the length of an extended carbine stock.

This listing is the buttstock assembly by itself, not the full CQB stock with the housing, buffer, and spring. It's the interchangeable half that slides on the guide rails of the Maxim system. If you're starting from scratch you'd want the complete CQB Gen 6 stock instead.
There are no buttons to press. You just pull the stock rearward to extend it and push it forward to collapse it, and it locks into four preset positions along the way. The design rides on steel guide rods, which is how Maxim keeps it so compact when it's closed.
