It drops a proper socket into that cup so you can run push-button quick-detach swivels or the Magpul QDM, giving you a solid, rattle-free connection point for your sling.
The kit installs on either the right or left side of the stock, so you can set up your sling on whichever side matches how you shoulder and carry.
