Slinging up a Remington 870 running the Magpul SGA stock has always been a bit of an afterthought, and this little piece of hardware fixes that. The SGA Receiver Sling Mount tucks in at the junction where the buttstock meets the receiver, giving you a solid, purpose-built spot to run a one-point sling without hanging awkward adapters off the gun. It accepts common clip-in hardware including the Magpul MS3 Paraclip, the HK hook, and the ITW MASH hook, so odds are good it plays nice with the sling you already own.
Installation is about as simple as it gets. You pull the SGA stock, drop the mount in at the front of the stock, then reinstall. The sling loop can be positioned on the left or right side, so left-handed and right-handed users both get an attachment point that sits where it should. That flip-side flexibility is a big part of what makes this mount worth grabbing over a generic swivel setup.
This isn't a molded polymer part. The mount is precision cast from steel and given a Melonite finish, which shrugs off wear and corrosion the way you'd expect from a load-bearing attachment point. A sling takes real abuse over time, especially on a truck gun or a shotgun that gets carried hard, and steel construction means you're not going to worry about it flexing or wearing out on you. Magpul builds this one in the USA.
One thing to keep in mind: this is a dedicated fit for the Remington 870 version of the Magpul SGA stock. It's designed to integrate with that stock and nothing else, so if you're running the SGA on your 870, it drops right in. If you've already dressed your 870 in Magpul furniture, this is the piece that finishes the sling setup and keeps everything looking and working like it belongs together.
