The Magpul MOE SL-K is the stock you reach for when you want your AR-15 or M4 build to shrink down and get out of the way. It's a drop-in replacement for mil-spec carbine buffer tubes, so no gunsmith and no special tools are needed. At 7.9 ounces with a max length of just 6.5 inches, it's one of the most compact collapsible stocks Magpul makes, which is why it's such a popular pick for PDW-style setups, SBRs, and truck guns where every inch and every ounce matters.
Even though it's slim, the SL-K doesn't feel like you're shouldering a stick. The sloping cheek weld keeps the profile low while still giving you a comfortable spot to settle your face, and the compact rubber butt-pad has a rolled toe that helps it clear body armor and slide right into your shoulder pocket during quick transitions. You get about 3.3 inches of length-of-pull adjustment, which lands roughly between a 10.5-inch collapsed and 13.8-inch extended LOP on a standard M4 tube.
One of the smartest touches here is the ambidextrous release latch. It works from either side, so lefties and righties are covered, and it's designed to cut down on the rattle you get with a lot of budget stocks, all without extra levers or lock screws to fuss with. A chrome-silicon lock spring handles the positive lock-up and holds up over a long service life.
For sling work, the SL-K includes a 1.25-inch footman's loop and will accept the optional M-LOK QD Sling Mount if you prefer push-button QD swivels. It also plays nice with Magpul's ASAP and ASAP QD plates and other receiver-mount attachments, so you've got room to run it however your setup calls for. Made in the USA from Magpul's reinforced polymer, it's a straightforward, dependable upgrade for anyone building light and compact.
The SL-K is built for mil-spec sized carbine receiver extensions only, not commercial-spec tubes. Mil-spec is the more common size and is found on most AR-15 and M4 carbines from makers like Colt, LMT, Ruger, S&W, and SIG. If you're unsure which you have, a quick measurement of your tube's outer diameter will tell you, since commercial tubes are slightly larger.
The SL-K is the shorter, more compact version of the SL. It trims down the length and weight for PDW-style and SBR builds where you want the smallest footprint possible. If you want a full-size feel and a longer cheek surface, the standard SL is the better call, but for a light and tight setup the SL-K is hard to beat.
