Description

The Magpul Pro 700 Fixed Stock takes the guesswork out of building a serious precision rifle on the Remington 700 short-action footprint. At its core is a Type III hard anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum skeleton with a V-shaped bedding block that locks your action in place for consistent, repeatable seating shot after shot. Magpul then wraps that aluminum in molded polymer panels, which cuts down on noise, warms up the touch points in cold weather, and gives the whole chassis a more natural feel in the hands than a bare metal frame.

What the Pro 700 Fixed Stock brings to the bench

Adjustability is where this chassis earns its keep. You get a tool-free length of pull range from 13.25 inches out to 15.125 inches, a full inch of comb height with a secondary locking knob to kill any wobble in the cheek riser, and a butt pad that adjusts up, down, and cants left or right five degrees. The cheek riser also runs a three-position fore and aft setup, so getting behind glass and finding a straight, comfortable eye line takes just a few minutes. The pistol grip has a five-degree forward sweep and an enlarged palm swell, and Magpul includes a second grip with a more aggressive angle for folks who want a different feel.

Feeding and mounting on the Pro 700

The integrated magazine well runs the AICS pattern and is tuned for Magpul's PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC magazines, along with most other AICS-style short-action mags. A Melonite-treated steel ambidextrous paddle release sits low and snag-free, and the oversized trigger guard leaves room for gloved hands. Up front, the forend carries 21 M-LOK slots for bipods, arca rails, weights, and whatever else your setup calls for, and it clears factory Remington barrels plus aftermarket profiles up to MTU.

Ambi from the ground up

Lefties are not an afterthought here. Swapping the QD sling swivel plate and bolt retainer plate with a 1/8-inch hex wrench flips the chassis over for left or right-hand actions, and the cheek riser reverses to match. If you decide you want a folder down the road, this fixed version accepts the Magpul Pro FHA Folding Hinge Adapter. Made in the USA.

Frequently Asked Questions

What actions fit the Magpul Pro 700 Fixed Stock?

This chassis is built for short-action Remington 700 receivers and other actions sharing the Remington 700 footprint. It clears factory Remington barrels as well as aftermarket profiles up to an MTU contour, so most custom builds drop right in. If you are running something heavier than MTU, plan on checking barrel channel clearance before assembly.

Is the Pro 700 Fixed Stock ambidextrous?

Yes, it runs fully ambidextrous. Swapping the QD sling swivel plate and the bolt retainer plate with a 1/8-inch hex wrench sets it up for a left or right-hand action, and the cheek riser reverses to match. The magazine release paddle is ambidextrous from the factory.

What magazines does the Pro 700 use?

The integrated magazine well is AICS pattern and optimized for Magpul PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC magazines. It also accepts most other AICS-pattern short-action magazines, which are the industry standard for precision bolt guns. Keep in mind polymer PMAGs limit cartridge overall length more than steel AICS mags, which matters mainly if you load long.

Can the fixed stock be converted to a folder later?

It can. This fixed version accepts the Magpul Pro FHA Folding Hinge Adapter (MAG999), sold separately, so you can add a folding hinge down the road without buying a whole new chassis. That makes the fixed stock a solid entry point if a folder is on your wish list but not in the budget yet.
