The Magpul DT-PR is the Precision Rifle member of Magpul's Dual-Tension (DT) family, and it's the stock to reach for when you want bench-rest steadiness without turning your build into a boat anchor. It drops right onto a standard mil-spec carbine buffer tube, so installing it is about as painless as swapping stocks gets. Runs great on AR-15, M4, M16, and larger AR-10, M110, and SR25 platforms, provided you're on a mil-spec sized receiver extension.
The headline feature is Magpul's patent-pending DT cartridge. It uses an auto-engaging friction lock that puts extra tension on the buffer tube, which pulls the slop out of the fit across the full length of pull. In plain terms, that means no rattle and no wobble when you shoulder the rifle, and the design also keeps it from catching facial hair or skin where your cheek meets the stock. This is where the PR in the name earns its keep. For carry, it packs ambidextrous rotation-limited QD sling cups plus a footman's loop, giving you plenty of ways to hang a sling. Length of pull runs 10.9 inches collapsed and 14.2 inches extended, and it's proudly made in the USA.
The DT-PR is built for mil-spec sized carbine receiver extension tubes and slides on as a drop-in replacement. It does not fit commercial-spec tubes, so double-check your tube diameter before ordering. The buffer tube itself is not included.
It works on both. As long as you're running a mil-spec sized carbine buffer tube, the DT-PR mounts up on AR-15, M4, and M16 builds as well as larger AR-10, M110, and SR25 platforms. Just verify your existing receiver extension is mil-spec carbine diameter.
