It will not fit full-size Government or Commander frames, so make sure your pistol runs a compact-length magazine before ordering.
Construction starts with a tube made from aircraft-grade 17-7 PH stainless steel at .025 inches thick, which Wilson Combat claims is the thickest wall in the industry. The tubes are heat-treated for maximum service life, and the tight dimensional tolerances mean the magazine should drop free cleanly and never bind your rounds inside the tube as long as your pistol and ammo are reasonably in spec. The follower is a fiber-fill self-lubricating nylon design that keeps rounds feeding smoothly through the mag's travel without tilting or binding. Note that the Kimber Micro series and Springfield EMP use proprietary magazines and are not compatible.
The compact/Officer magazine has a shorter tube designed to seat flush with the grip of a shorter 1911 frame. Full-size Government and Commander 1911s use a longer tube that would protrude well below the grip on an Officer-frame pistol. The 47OXCB is specifically sized for compact frames and will not function correctly in a full-size Government 1911.
