The Series 2 generation brings meaningful improvements to the original design, starting with a redesigned feed lip geometry that significantly improves compatibility with most modern AR-15s. The revised feed lip geometry and catch pocket design make it compatible with the vast majority of modern AR-platform rifles. Simply push the HexID tab inward at the bottom of the magazine with your finger and slide the base plate off. Once removed, you can swap out the colored follower and latch plate for a different color to identify caliber or ammo type. The whole process takes under a minute with no tools required. Keep in mind that on this 10-round model, the base plate is riveted and cannot be removed, so the HexID system works differently than on standard 30-round models.
