It starts as a folding over/under combination gun with an 18.5 inch 12 gauge barrel up top and an 18.5 inch .22 WMR barrel below, each with its own trigger so you can pick your shot instantly. Then Chiappa includes the X-Caliber adapter set: eight fully rifled inserts that drop into the 12 gauge barrel and let you fire .380 ACP, 9mm, .38 Special/.357 Magnum, .40 S&W, .44 Magnum, .45 ACP, .410/.45 Colt, and 20 gauge. Add it all up and this one firearm handles 12 different chamberings. If you can scrounge ammo for it, odds are the M6 can shoot it.
The M6 traces its roots back to the classic Air Force aircrew survival gun, and Chiappa's version keeps that no-frills toughness while adding modern touches. The blued steel barrels sit in a folding break-open action that collapses for compact storage, and the whole thing measures 34.6 inches deployed while weighing right around six pounds. The skeletonized steel stock has a polypropylene foam insert that holds spare shotshells and rimfire rounds, plus a cleaning kit tucked inside the stock itself. The 12 gauge barrel takes Rem Choke pattern tubes and ships with a modified choke installed, so you're not locked into one pattern.
Aiming is handled by a red fiber optic front sight paired with an M1 carbine style rear that adjusts for windage and elevation, a setup that stays visible in dim timber or fading light. Quad Picatinny rails on the receiver give you room for a red dot, light, or whatever else your setup calls for. A top tang manual safety keeps operation simple and ambidextrous.
