The IC-9 carries over the features that made LWRC's gas piston rifles a favorite among people who take their gear seriously. The MonoForge upper receiver has an integrated rail base that is lighter and stronger than a standard flat top, and the forgings are struck, heat treated, and struck again for tight dimensional accuracy. The 16.1 inch cold hammer forged barrel wears a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle, so adding a suppressor or your preferred muzzle device is simple. Hard coat anodizing, nitride, and nickel boron treatments throughout keep everything running clean and resisting wear. The Flat Dark Earth Cerakote on the receiver set looks great against the black furniture too.
The lower is designed from scratch around Glock pattern magazines, which opens up one of the biggest and most affordable magazine aftermarkets out there, from factory mags to extended sticks and drums. A 27 round magazine comes in the box, and unlike some competing PCCs, the bolt locks open on the last round. Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety, bolt release, and charging handle, and the enhanced fire control group gives you a crisp pull with a positive reset that does not need replacing.
At 6.1 pounds with a six position adjustable stock, this carbine is light, quick handling, and cheap to feed.
