The DI was designed from scratch with a proprietary bolt carrier group, a Monoforge upper receiver with an integrated rail base, and the kind of fit and finish that makes other ARs on the rack feel loose by comparison. The heart of this rifle is a 16.1-inch cold hammer forged barrel with spiral fluting that trims weight and adds surface area for cooling, plus it just looks great through the rail. The 1:7 twist stabilizes everything from light varmint loads to heavy 77 grain match ammo, and the muzzle is threaded 1/2×28 behind the A2 style flash hider if you want to run your own device. The lower is fully ambidextrous, with the mag release, bolt catch and selector mirrored on both sides, and the charging handle works from either side too. The adjustable compact stock and Magpul MOE+ grip keep the contact points comfortable, and the rubber overmold on that grip is a nice touch when your hands are sweaty or cold.
The one piece free float M-LOK handguard keeps pressure off the barrel for better accuracy and gives you plenty of real estate for lights, hand stops and sling mounts. And since the lower is compatible with LWRC's IC family, you can drop a piston driven IC upper on it down the road if you ever want to go that route. It ships with one 10 round magazine, ready for the range out of the box.
