The Luth-AR MBA-1 is what happens when someone takes the plain-jane A2 fixed stock and makes it work as hard as the rest of your rifle. It mounts to a standard rifle-length A2 buffer tube on AR-15 and AR-10 platforms, and it opens up adjustments most fixed stocks never touch. You get a cheek rest that raises up to an inch, a length of pull you can stretch out with the 3-axis butt plate, and an ambidextrous layout that works off either shoulder. It's built from super strong glass-filled nylon and tips the scale at just 1.26 pounds, which is roughly half the weight of a lot of competing adjustable stocks.
The 3-axis butt plate is the headliner here. It moves in three directions: horizontal to add about 1-1/16 inches of length of pull, vertical to seat the pad into the pocket of your shoulder, and lateral to give you a half inch of cast left or right. That means the rifle comes back to the same spot every time you mount it, which is exactly what you want on a precision or DMR build. Pair that with the cheek riser and you can line up your eye behind a raised optic without craning your neck or floating your cheek weld.
Installation is straightforward. The MBA-1 comes with an A1 buttstock screw to fasten it to a standard A2 tube, and it incorporates a castle nut and lock ring in the design for a secure, rattle-free setup. The adjustments run off finger-friendly knurled knobs, so you can tune your fit at the bench or on the line without digging for tools. It swaps in for standard A1 or A2 stocks and any aftermarket stock in the 10.5-inch range.
Shooters running tall builds tend to appreciate how high the cheek pad rides and how naturally it lands. It fits .223/5.56 and most .308/7.62 rifles, making it a solid pick for competition, varmint, and hunting rigs alike. Keep in mind this is a fixed rifle-length stock and won't work on carbine-length telescoping 6-position tubes. If your rifle runs a collapsible tube, the MBA-3 or MBA-4 is the version you'll want instead.
