The Leupold BackCountry ringmount is a rifle-specific mounting solution made for Remington 700 long-action receivers running a 1" main-tube scope. Instead of a separate base and ring setup, each piece combines the base and ring into one integrated unit, which cuts weight and keeps the whole system clean and low-profile. These are the medium-height version, giving you balanced clearance for most hunting scopes without sitting your glass up higher than it needs to be.
Leupold machines these from 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, so you get serious strength without the bulk. The pair tips the scale at right around 3.2 ounces, which is the kind of weight savings you notice when you're covering miles of rough terrain on a backcountry hunt. A milled-in recoil lug and a low-profile keeper screw round out the design, and the whole mount is built to hold your optic in an exact, repeatable position shot after shot.
This is the adaptable version, which means it ships with both 8-40 and 6-48 screws to match the receiver holes on your Remington 700 long action. That flexibility takes the guesswork out of mounting and lets you run the larger 8-40 hardware for extra bite if your receiver is drilled and tapped for it. Leupold spec's the base/receiver screws at 22 in-lbs and the ring top screws at 28 in-lbs, so grab a torque wrench and you'll have a dialed, secure setup.
These rings are cut for 1" scope tubes, so they'll pair up with a huge swath of classic hunting optics, including plenty of Leupold's own VX line. This set is built for 1" main-tube riflescopes only. If your scope has a 30mm or 34mm tube, you'll want the matching BackCountry version in that diameter instead. The 1" size covers a huge range of traditional hunting optics, including many of Leupold's VX scopes.
