The Lee 45 Colt Breech Lock Carbide 4-Die Set gives you everything needed to load quality .45 Colt rounds at home, and it does it with the kind of practical touches that make a long reloading session go smoother. The tungsten carbide ring resizes straight-walled cases without any case lubricant, which means no messy lube pad, no cleaning grease off finished brass, and one less step between you and a loaded round.
This is the four-die layout, so you get a carbide full length sizing die, a powder-through expanding die that flares the case mouth and drops your charge in one motion, a bullet seating die, and a Carbide Factory Crimp Die. That crimp die is the piece a lot of revolver reloaders swear by. It applies a firm, uniform crimp while a carbide ring gives the finished round a final sizing pass, so your reloads chamber cleanly and hold the bullet tight against recoil. Each die ships with a color-coded Breech Lock bushing already installed. If you run a Breech Lock press, you set your die adjustment once, then twist the whole die out and back in without losing your setting. These are standard 7/8-14 thread dies, so they thread into the common presses out there from Lee, Dillon, Hornady, RCBS and others.

No. The carbide sizing die uses a tungsten carbide ring that resizes straight-walled .45 Colt brass without any lubricant. That saves you the lube step and the cleanup afterward. For very large straight-wall cases some reloaders still lube, but for standard .45 Colt it isn't necessary.
The dies use a standard 7/8-14 thread, so they fit common presses from Lee, Dillon, Hornady, RCBS and others. The Breech Lock bushings are the feature that gives you quick tool-free die swaps, and those benefit most on a Breech Lock enabled press. You can still run the dies on any standard press by threading them in the usual way.
