It sits right in that pocket where you get most of the velocity of a longer barrel while keeping the whole rifle short and quick to swing around. Pin and weld a muzzle device to hit that 16-inch mark and you've got a package that handles like something much shorter without adding paperwork. This LBE Unlimited barrel is chambered in 5.56 NATO, so it'll happily run both 5.56 and .223 Rem, and the 1:7 twist is set up to stabilize heavier bullets on the top end.
Cold hammer forging is the same manufacturing method a lot of premium and military barrels use.
