The heart of the system is the target's built-in stopwatch. It counts up from zero the moment you start and stops the instant your laser finds the bullseye, so you get a hard number on your draw and press. When a shot lands, 62 LEDs light up to show exactly where each round would have gone, giving you clear feedback on where you're pulling. Run it in Quick Tyme mode when you want to work speed against the clock, or switch to Tracer Laser Fire mode to trace your shots in the order they landed for lower-pressure accuracy work.
The training pistol in this kit is no toy. It mimics the feel of a real full-size handgun down to the roughly 5.5-pound trigger pull, complete with take-up, a break, and a reset. The trigger is ready to go every time, so there's no working the slide between shots. It fires a visible red laser (630 to 670nm) that the target reads with no trouble, and it's a great way to build trigger finger strength and clean up your technique between range trips.
The target runs on three AA batteries, good for roughly 6,000 shots, and the pistol runs on three A76 batteries rated for around 50,000. You can stand the target on any flat surface or hang it on a wall using the hole on the back. Want to build a course of fire? Combine the Quick Tyme target with other LaserLyte targets and shoot this one last to record your overall time.
