Description

The Beretta 1301 earned its reputation as one of the fastest-cycling semi auto shotguns you can buy, and Langdon Tactical figured the smart move was to leave that foundation alone and upgrade everything around it. That's exactly what the LTT1301HZMBLK is. It starts life as a 1301 Mod 2 with the Pro Lifter and semi-flat trigger, then LTT's crew goes through it with their in-house trigger job to smooth out the pull and take a bit of weight off. From there they add the parts most owners end up buying separately anyway: an LTT Super Duty front sight, a heat shield over the 18.5 inch black oxide barrel, a Magpul stock, and a Magpul Zhukov forend modified by GG&G to fit the 1301 platform.

Why the LTT 1301 Setup Works

The Zhukov forend gives you more real estate and M-LOK compatibility for a light, while the heat shield keeps your support hand off a hot barrel during longer range sessions. Sling attachment is sorted too, with QD mounting points built into the barrel clamp and a footman's loop on the Magpul stock. The Pro Lifter deserves a mention as well, since it lets you run the loading port without pinched thumbs, and the enlarged controls on the Mod 2 receiver are easy to hit under stress or with gloves on.

Chokes, Capacity, and Everything Else on This Langdon 1301

The barrel is threaded for Beretta's Optima choke system and ships with Cylinder and Improved Cylinder tubes, so you can pattern buckshot the way you want instead of being stuck with a fixed bore. Capacity sits at 7+1 with the included Beretta magazine tube and a 3 inch chamber handles the full range of 12 gauge defensive and field loads. Everything arrives in a Condition 1 hard sided case, which is a nice touch at this level. If you've been eyeing a 1301 and pricing out the upgrade list, this build gets you to the finished product in one step, with the work done by people who know the platform inside and out.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Langdon Tactical change on this Beretta 1301 compared to a factory model?

LTT starts with a Beretta 1301 Mod 2 that already has the Pro Lifter and semi-flat trigger, then performs their in-house trigger job to smooth and lighten the pull. They also add the LTT Super Duty front sight, a heat shield over the barrel, a Magpul stock, and a Magpul Zhukov forend modified by GG&G to fit the 1301. It's essentially the full upgrade list done for you before it ever leaves their shop.

Can I attach a sling and weapon light to the LTT 1301?

Yes on both counts. QD sling mounting points are built into the barrel clamp, and the Magpul stock has a footman's loop for the rear attachment. The Zhukov forend gives you M-LOK slots for mounting a light or other accessories where you want them.

Does the LTT1301HZMBLK accept different choke tubes?

It does. The barrel is threaded for Beretta's Optima choke system and ships with Cylinder and Improved Cylinder tubes. That lets you tighten up buckshot patterns or open things up depending on the load you're running, which is a real advantage over fixed-choke defensive shotguns.

Will this 1301 Mod 2 cycle reduced-recoil buckshot reliably?

The 1301's gas system is known for running low-recoil defensive loads without issue, and it's one of the reasons the platform is so popular for home defense and duty use. The 3 inch chamber also handles heavier magnum loads if you need them. As with any semi auto, it's smart to pattern and function-test your chosen defensive load before relying on it.
