This version pairs a bright pink synthetic stock with a classic blued barrel and receiver, giving it a look young shooters get excited about while keeping the proven single shot bolt action that made the Crickett a household name. At right around 3 pounds with a 30 inch overall length and an 11.5 inch length of pull, it fits small frames the way a full size rifle never will.
The heart of this rifle is its manually cocking action. After chambering a round, the shooter has to deliberately pull the cocking knob back before the rifle will fire, which builds an intentional pause into every shot. A rebounding firing pin adds another layer of protection against unintentional discharge. Combine that with a light 2.5 to 3 pound trigger pull and a single shot capacity, and you have a setup that forces kids to slow down, focus on one shot at a time, and learn the fundamentals the right way. The EZ Load feed ramp makes chambering rounds simple for small hands, too.
Out of the box, the G2 wears a fixed front sight and an adjustable rear peep, which is a great teaching setup since peep sights come naturally to new shooters. When your kid is ready for glass, the receiver comes drilled and tapped for Crickett scope mounts, so adding a small scope or red dot down the road is a quick job. Swivel studs are already installed for a sling when hunting season rolls around.
The synthetic stock shrugs off bumps, drops, and weather, and the 16.125 inch blued barrel with a 1:16 twist stabilizes standard .22 LR loads just fine for plinking cans, punching paper, and small game work. Made in the USA, this is the kind of rifle that gets handed down once the first owner outgrows it.
With an 11.5 inch length of pull and a weight of about 3 pounds, the Crickett G2 fits most kids from roughly 4 to 10 years old, depending on their size. Plenty of families start youngsters on this rifle with close adult supervision and shooting bags for support. Once the buttstock feels short against their shoulder, they've outgrown it, and it becomes a hand-me-down.

Many parents run the factory peep sights for the first season to build fundamentals, then add an optic once the basics are down. Keystone sells scope bases and packages made specifically for this rifle.
After you close the bolt on a chambered round, the Crickett G2 will not fire until the cocking knob at the rear of the bolt is deliberately pulled back. This means the rifle can be loaded and carried uncocked, and the shooter only readies it right before the shot. A rebounding firing pin adds another safeguard against unintentional discharge.
The chamber is cut for .22 Long Rifle, and it will also feed .22 Short and .22 Long since it's a single shot with no magazine to worry about. That flexibility is handy for training, as quieter .22 Short loads can be a gentler introduction for very young beginners. The 1:16 twist barrel handles all standard rimfire loads well.
