There is nothing else on the market that looks — or shoots — quite like the KRISS Vector. The SDP Gen 3 in Alpine White is the pistol-configuration member of the Vector family, and chambering it in 10mm Auto with a 33-round magazine takes an already-wild platform and cranks it up a notch. The Gen 3 overhaul brought redesigned upper and lower housings that are lighter and more ergonomic than previous generations, a refined skeletonized trigger, a larger and better-shielded ambidextrous magazine release, and a rear Picatinny interface that opens the door to stocks or braces down the road.
The core of what makes the Vector worth owning is the Super V Recoil Mitigation System. It is a delayed blowback operating system where a low-mass slider is guided by internal channels running perpendicular to the barrel. When you fire, that mechanism drives blowback energy downward rather than straight back, which actively counters muzzle rise. Paired with one of the lowest bore axes on any production firearm — the barrel sits below the fire control group — the result is a 10mm that shoots dramatically flatter than the caliber has any right to. People who have never shot a Vector are always surprised by how manageable it is.
Out of the box, the Vector SDP is set up well for customization. The 5.5" barrel is threaded at 9/16×24, the standard pitch for 10mm suppressors and muzzle devices. The M-LOK handguard gives you real estate for lights, lasers, or a grip, and the full-length receiver-top Picatinny rail is ready for any optic you want to run. The flip-up front and rear polymer sights are fully adjustable — rear for windage, front for elevation — and they co-witness cleanly with most red dot sights on a standard mount. The interchangeable AR-15/M16-pattern pistol grip means you can swap to your preferred grip style without any gunsmith work.
One of the biggest practical wins with the Vector platform is the Glock magazine compatibility. The 10mm version runs full-size Glock 20 pattern magazines, so if you already own a G20 or similar, you have a ready-made magazine supply. This gun ships with one 33-round magazine, which is plenty for a range day and makes a statement every time you load it up. The magazine loads forward of the trigger guard, which takes about five minutes to get used to and then feels totally natural.
The Alpine White finish is a cerakote-style matte coat that gives the Vector a look unlike anything else in a gun safe. It is the kind of firearm that draws a crowd at the range whether you want it to or not.
The Super V system uses a small bolt carrier group connected to a low-mass slider that rides in channels running perpendicular to the barrel inside the lower receiver. When the gun fires, instead of all that blowback energy driving straight back into your hands, the slider is forced downward — which creates a counterforce to the barrel's natural tendency to climb. Combined with the Vector's extremely low bore axis, the result is a 10mm pistol that shoots noticeably flatter than you'd expect from the caliber.
The 10mm Vector uses full-size Glock 20 pattern magazines, which means any standard double-stack Glock 20 mag will work. This gun ships with one 33-round magazine, and KRISS also offers their MagEx2 extensions that bring capacity up to 33 rounds with a standard mag. If you already own a Glock 20, you've got instant magazine compatibility between the two.
The 5.5" barrel is threaded at 9/16×24 right-hand pitch, which is the standard for 10mm and .40 S&W suppressors. Most quality .40 S&W and 10mm cans are compatible, and even some .45 ACP suppressors can handle 10mm — just confirm with your suppressor manufacturer first. The Vector's low-profile design and flat-shooting nature make it a solid suppressor host.
The controls take a short adjustment period since the layout differs from a traditional handgun or AR-platform. The magazine well is forward of the trigger guard, the charging handle folds and sits at the front of the receiver, and the ambidextrous safety is at the top of the grip frame. Most people get comfortable within a magazine or two at the range. One tip that comes up consistently: keep your support hand on the lower portion of the handguard to avoid inadvertently riding the bolt hold-open or magazine release.
The Gen 3 SDP ships with a full-length Picatinny top rail for optics, an M-LOK handguard for lights and accessories, and a rear Picatinny interface that accepts pistol braces or stocks. The AR-compatible pistol grip is swappable for any standard AR-15/M16 grip. The threaded barrel handles any compatible muzzle device or suppressor, and the top rail co-witnesses with most flip-up-compatible red dot sights.
The 10mm is the hardest-hitting option in the Vector lineup and delivers genuine stopping power that 9mm simply can't match in terms of energy. The Super V system does a very capable job taming 10mm recoil, making the caliber far more manageable here than in a conventional pistol. The 33-round Glock-pattern magazine also gives a meaningful capacity advantage over the .45 ACP version, which runs 30 rounds.
