There is nothing else on the rack that looks or shoots like a KRISS Vector, and the Gen 3 CRB in .45 ACP is the most refined version of the platform yet. The heart of it is the patented Super V recoil mitigation system, which sends the bolt and an inertia block downward into the receiver instead of straight back into your shoulder. Combine that with a bore axis that sits below your trigger finger and you get a .45 caliber carbine that stays remarkably flat during rapid strings. Big bore thump going out, very little coming back.
KRISS listened to years of user feedback on this one. The skeletonized trigger cuts pre-travel down to a fraction of what the older generations had, giving you a short, crisp pull with a quick reset. The upper housing is slimmer and lighter, the magazine release is now reversible, the safety lever is fully ambidextrous, and the pistol grip is interchangeable so you can swap in your favorite. Up front, the redesigned barrel shroud ditches the old rail setup for M-LOK slots, which keeps the gun trim until you decide to add a light or hand stop. The Black and FDE two-tone finish gives it a look that stands out without going full camo.
The CRB feeds from full-size Glock pattern .45 ACP magazines, and KRISS includes a 30-round MagEx extended mag in the box so you can spend more time shooting and less time loading. Flip-up sights come installed, and the full-length top rail is ready for whatever optic you run. At roughly 7.7 pounds with a folding, adjustable stock, it packs down nicely for transport and stretches out comfortably at the bench.
Whether you are running pistol caliber carbine matches, burning through range ammo on a Saturday, or just want the most distinctive .45 in the safe, this thing delivers. The 16 inch threaded barrel also leaves the door open for a suppressor, and subsonic .45 ACP through a can is about as pleasant as shooting gets.
It does, and noticeably. The Super V system redirects bolt energy downward into the receiver instead of straight back, and the barrel sits below the trigger for a very low bore axis. The result is a .45 carbine that shoots flatter and softer than most 9mm options, making fast follow-up shots easy.
It runs full-size Glock pattern .45 ACP magazines, like those from the Glock 21. KRISS includes one 30-round MagEx extended magazine in the box, and standard 13-round Glock mags drop right in if you want a slimmer profile.
Gen 3 is a substantial update. The trigger is skeletonized with pre-travel cut from about 3mm down to 0.7mm, the upper housing is slimmer and lighter, and the mag release is now reversible. You also get an M-LOK barrel shroud in place of the old rail, an interchangeable pistol grip, and redesigned controls throughout.
Yes, the 16 inch barrel comes threaded from the factory, so mounting a suppressor or muzzle device is straightforward. Since .45 ACP is naturally subsonic with standard loads, this platform is a favorite for suppressed shooting.
