The KRISS DMK22P is part of the Defiance DMK22 family, and it stands apart from the sea of plastic rimfire plinkers out there. This isn't an AR-15 with a drop-in conversion bolt slapped into it. KRISS built the DMK22 to mirror a real AR from the ground up, with forged 7075-T6 aluminum upper and lower receivers and fully functional controls. The bolt release, forward assist, and dust cover all work the way they should, so the manual of arms carries straight over to your centerfire rifle.
It runs a simple, reliable direct-blowback action paired with a 10.5" threaded barrel, which makes it easy to add a .22-rated muzzle device or a suppressor down the line. One of the coolest design touches is the patented barrel adapter, which lets the gun accept Ruger 10/22-pattern barrels in a standard AR upper. That opens up a huge aftermarket if you ever want to swap profiles or lengths. The DMK22P also features a true last-round bolt hold-open when you run the included KRISS magazine, which is rare in the rimfire world and a big deal for realistic training reps.
Feeding is flexible too. Beyond the proprietary KRISS mags, the platform will run select Black Dog and S&W M&P 15-22 magazines, though you'll lose the bolt hold-open feature with those.

Yes. The 10.5" barrel comes threaded, which makes it easy to add a .22-rated muzzle device or a suppressor. Keep in mind that .22 LR doesn't produce much gas, so muzzle brakes are mostly cosmetic on this caliber.
You can. One of the standout features is the patented barrel adapter that lets the DMK22 accept Ruger 10/22-pattern barrels in a standard AR upper. The adapter is held with set screws that index into dimples, so swapping to certain aftermarket 10/22 barrels may require minor gunsmithing to add those dimples.
It comes down to cost and reps. Rimfire ammo is dramatically cheaper than centerfire, so you can drill fundamentals like transitions and barricade work far more often for the same money. Add in light recoil and AR-matching controls, and it's an excellent low-cost trainer that's also just plain fun to shoot.
