Description
Some suppressors are built for the bench, and some are built to get beat on. The KGM R30A2 falls squarely in the second camp. KGM designed this can to meet and exceed SOCOM specs for full-auto fire, sound suppression, accuracy, and repeatability, and the core design has survived more than 20 SOCOM SURG test cycles on an 11.5 inch 5.56 gun without failing. That is the kind of torture testing most cans never see, and it means a semi-auto .308 is basically a vacation for this thing.
Built From the Tough Stuff
The R30A2 is constructed from Inconel and stainless steel, laser welded together for a service life measured in serious round counts, even under aggressive firing schedules. KGM hardens it further in-house with a gas-phase nitride treatment, then finishes it in C-Series Cerakote rated to 1200 degrees. This one wears FDE, which pairs nicely with just about any duty or hunting rig. At 6.4 inches long and 1.75 inches in diameter, it keeps the overall package manageable on everything from full-length rifles down to 12.5 inch SBRs.
Low Backpressure, Happy Rifle
What sets the R30A2 apart from a lot of hard-use cans is how it handles gas. The minimized backpressure design routes gas efficiently through the suppressor instead of dumping it back into your action, which means less over-gassing, less gunk and gas in your face, and a rifle that keeps running the way it did unsuppressed. Redirecting gas away from the bullet path also helps precision and keeps point of impact shift to a minimum, while the shrouded end cap with integrated flash hider knocks down muzzle flash impressively well.
Mounting the R30A2 QD
This is the quick-detach version, and it ships with a 5/8×24 QD flash hider so you can mount up right away. The QD mount uses a tapered shoulder with secondary retention, so it locks up solid and returns to the same spot every time. Rated for 7.62 NATO and .30 caliber cartridges, made in the USA, and ready for whatever you throw at it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the KGM R30A2 rated for full-auto fire?
Yes. The R30A2 was designed to meet and exceed SOCOM specifications for full-auto firing schedules, and its core design has endured over 20 SOCOM SURG test cycles on an 11.5 inch 5.56 platform without failure. The Inconel and stainless steel laser-welded construction is what makes that possible. For typical semi-auto use, it has durability to spare.
Does the R30A2 QD come with a mount?
It does. This version includes one 5/8×24 QD flash hider, so you can thread it onto a standard .308 muzzle and start shooting suppressed right out of the box. The QD mount uses a tapered shoulder with secondary retention for a rock-solid, repeatable lockup.
Will the KGM R30A2 add a lot of gas blowback to my AR-10?
This is one of its strong points. The R30A2 uses a minimized backpressure design that manages gas flow through the can instead of pushing it back into the action, which cuts down on over-gassing and gas to the face. Your rifle should cycle closer to its unsuppressed behavior than it would with most traditional baffle designs.
Can I run the R30A2 on a short-barreled .308?
Yes, KGM rates the R30A2 for 7.62/.308 rifles down to 12.5 inch barrels. Shorter barrels produce more pressure and flash at the muzzle, and this can was built with exactly that kind of hard use in mind. It handles up to 7.62mm projectiles through the bore.
