There are small carry guns, and then there's the Kahr P380. At 4.9 inches long, 3.9 inches tall, and just 9.97 ounces without a magazine, this thing disappears in a pocket holster or on the ankle. But what sets it apart from the sea of budget .380s is what Kahr put inside it. The 2.53 inch barrel is a premium Lothar Walther match grade unit with polygonal rifling, which squeezes a bit more velocity out of hollow points than conventional rifled barrels and delivers accuracy you wouldn't expect from a gun this size.
Kahr didn't cut corners on the frame either. The black polymer frame has 4140 steel inserts molded into the front and back for extra rigidity, and the matte stainless slide is machined from solid 416 stainless bar stock. The trigger-cocking DAO action uses a lock breech, Browning-type recoil lug design, which soaks up recoil noticeably better than the straight blowback .380s it competes with. That means faster, more comfortable follow-up shots, something that matters a lot in a defensive pistol. The trigger pull is the smooth, consistent stroke Kahr is known for, with no external safety levers to fumble with under stress.
This version, model KP38233N, comes with drift-adjustable tritium night sights dovetailed into the slide. Real, usable sights are rare on micro .380s, and glowing tritium vials give you a sight picture in low light without batteries or switches. You also get a loaded chamber indicator for a quick visual and tactile status check, and the slide locks back on the last round so you're never guessing when it's time to reload.
Kahr ships this pistol with two stainless steel magazines, including a flush-fit 6 rounder for maximum concealment and an extended 7 round magazine that gives your pinky somewhere to live at the range. Pair it with quality flat-nose or hollow point ammo, put a couple hundred rounds through it to break it in, and you've got a deep-concealment pistol that shoots like something much bigger.

The Lothar Walther match grade barrel with polygonal rifling was built with hollow points in mind and tends to produce slightly higher velocities with them than conventional barrels. Like most micro pistols, it favors quality factory loads, and flat-nose and hollow point profiles are a popular choice among owners. Kahr recommends a break-in period of around 200 rounds before trusting any new pistol for carry.
