.450 Bushmaster 250 gr FTX Hunting Ammo – 20rd Box

Description

The Hornady Custom .450 Bushmaster 250 grain FTX stands out as one of the most reliable factory loads available for this powerful cartridge. Each round is hand-inspected before packaging to ensure consistent quality across the entire 20-round box. This attention to detail means you're getting ammunition that's been scrutinized at multiple points in production, which matters when you're hunting.

What Makes the FTX Bullet Design Stand Out

The Flex Tip eXpanding bullet is what sets this load apart from basic ammunition offerings. The polymer tip compresses into the bullet on impact, initiating reliable expansion across a wide range of velocities without the risk of deformation in tubular magazines. Field testing shows this round delivers controlled expansion that balances penetration with energy transfer, making it effective on medium to large game from deer out to elk at practical hunting distances.

Ballistics and Hunting Performance

Loaded to 2200 fps muzzle velocity with 2686 foot-pounds of energy, this round generates serious downrange performance in a compact package. At 100 yards you're looking at roughly 1835 fps with 1868 foot-pounds of energy, and it continues to carry substantial power even at 200 yards. The .450 Bushmaster was purpose-built for close to mid-range hunting in straight-wall cartridge zones, and this Hornady load maximizes what the platform can do. Real-world accuracy from quality barrels consistently delivers tight groups at 100 yards, with experienced hunters reporting repeatable performance in field conditions.

Reloadable Brass for Long-Term Value

Each case is manufactured from new brass with standard boxer primers, making them reloadable after use. This gives you additional value if you decide to handload, and the quality of Hornady brass means consistent performance throughout the case life cycle.
