The 25 Creedmoor has been getting a lot of attention lately, and for good reason. It splits the difference between the 6mm and 6.5 Creedmoor, pushing sleek quarter-bore bullets fast and flat enough for coyotes and prairie dogs while still carrying plenty of punch for deer-sized game. Howa built this Fence Line rifle around that do-it-all cartridge with a 22 inch cold hammer forged barrel and a quick 1:7.5 twist that stabilizes the long, high-BC bullets the round was designed for. The muzzle comes threaded with a brake already installed, so you can shoot it as-is, or spin the brake off and run a suppressor.
The Fence Line takes the M1500 action that has earned its reputation since 1979 and dresses it up with the features people ask for at the counter. The barrel and action wear a durable Cerakote finish, the synthetic stock gets the Gray Light treatment, and the whole package is guaranteed to shoot sub-MOA three-shot groups at 100 yards with quality factory ammo. Underneath, you get the same M1500 fundamentals that have made these rifles a favorite: a machined receiver, forged bolt with dual locking lugs, an M16-style extractor that yanks brass out with authority, and Howa's HACT two-stage trigger that breaks clean without any gritty take-up.
This short action model feeds from an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, holding five in the magazine plus one in the chamber. The three-position safety is a genuinely useful touch, letting you cycle the bolt and unload with the safety engaged, or lock the bolt down entirely for crossing rough country. The receiver is drilled and tapped, so mounting your favorite scope is straightforward. Add in Howa's lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, and you have a working rifle that earns its name: the kind of gun that rides in the truck, walks the fence line, and still stacks bullets when you stretch it out past where most hunting rifles run out of steam.
It is a genuine triple-threat round. It shoots lighter bullets fast and flat enough for varmints and predators, handles deer-sized game with heavier quarter-bore bullets, and the high-BC projectiles it was built around make it a legitimate long range target cartridge. Think of it as splitting the difference between the 6mm and 6.5 Creedmoor while borrowing the best traits of both.
Yes. The 22 inch barrel comes threaded from the factory with a radial muzzle brake installed. Remove the brake and you can thread on a suppressor or another muzzle device of your choosing.
No, this short action model feeds from an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, giving you 5+1 capacity. Only the mini action Fence Line models use detachable magazines. The floorplate design keeps the rifle slim for carry and lets you dump rounds quickly when unloading.
Howa guarantees sub-MOA performance, meaning three-shot groups of one inch or better at 100 yards with premium factory ammunition. The cold hammer forged barrel and HACT two-stage trigger do a lot of the heavy lifting there. It is also backed by a lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects.
