The polymer construction is lightweight and durable, finished in black to match most factory stocks. Installation takes about 10 to 15 minutes using basic hand tools. The included instructions specify a recommended screw torque of 30 to 35 inch-pounds, and you'll use your rifle's existing takedown screws.
This kit is legitimately drop-in ready for standard Howa 1500 action rifles, which means the conversion trigger guard assembly should fit without modification on most polymer and wood stocks. That said, stock design varies, and some wood stocks are made to different specifications. If you've got a polymer stock, installation should be straightforward. The kit won't work with the Howa 1500 Superlite model, so verify compatibility before purchasing if that's your rifle.
Beyond the standard Howa 1500, this kit also works with Weatherby Vanguard short action rifles, plus the older Smith & Wesson 1500, Mossberg 1500, and Interarms 1500 models. Since this is a 6.5 Creedmoor specific kit, make sure your rifle is chambered for that cartridge. The 5-round capacity keeps things practical while giving you the advantage of fast magazine changes.
This kit is designed for Howa 1500 short action rifles and also fits Weatherby Vanguard short action, plus older S&W 1500, Mossberg 1500, and Interarms 1500 models. The one exception is the Howa 1500 Superlite, which uses a different magazine system. As long as your rifle is chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and uses the standard Howa 1500 action, you're good to go.

This kit is specifically designed to work with Howa magazines. It won't accept PMAGS or other third-party magazine systems. You'll need to use the included Howa polymer magazine or purchase additional Howa-brand detachable magazines if you want to expand your magazine supply.
The kit is designed to work with most polymer stocks without modification. If you have a wood stock, fitment may vary depending on how that particular stock was manufactured. Many wood stocks work fine, but if yours has different trigger guard to action spacing, you might need minor adjustment or consultation with a gunsmith. Check fit before final torquing of the screws.
