Most AR pistols in this class are built from the same parts bin. The HM Defense RaiderMC is not one of them. The heart of this gun is HM's patented Monobloc barrel, a 9.5 inch match-grade 4150 Chromoly tube with the gas block machined as one solid piece of the barrel instead of pinned or clamped on afterward. That means no gas block to shoot loose, better barrel harmonics, and one less thing to worry about when you run the gun hard. The barrel is triple honed, button rifled with a 1:8 twist, and finished with a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle, so it stabilizes everything from 55 grain plinking ammo to heavier match loads and takes a suppressor or brake without any fuss.
The rest of the build keeps pace with that barrel. Upper and lower receivers are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with a hard coat anodized finish, and the 8.5 inch free-floating handguard is 6061-T6 aluminum with a full-length Picatinny top rail and M-LOK slots for lights, lasers, and hand stops. Inside, an M16-profile bolt carrier runs HM's patented HMB bolt, a design aimed at eliminating the classic AR failure point at the cam pin hole. A carbine-length gas system keeps cycling smooth for a short barrel, and the QD end plate gives you a quick single-point sling attachment right out of the box.
At just over five pounds with an adjustable Shockwave 2.0 blade stabilizer, this is an easy gun to maneuver in tight spaces, stash in a vehicle, or carry all day at a class. It feeds from standard AR-15 magazines with a 30+1 capacity and ships optic ready with a clean top rail, so pick your red dot or LPVO and get to work. Instead of pinning or clamping a separate gas block onto the barrel, HM Defense machines the gas block as one continuous piece with the barrel itself. That eliminates a common failure point where gas blocks shift or leak over time, and it improves barrel harmonics for better consistency. It also simplifies maintenance since there is no alignment to check.
No, it ships optic ready with a clean full-length Picatinny top rail and no iron sights. Most owners run a red dot or a set of flip-up backup sights on the rail. The flat top gives you plenty of real estate to set up whatever sighting system fits your use.
Yes, the 9.5 inch barrel has a standard 1/2×28 TPI threaded muzzle, which fits the vast majority of 5.56 suppressors, flash hiders, and muzzle brakes. The carbine-length gas system paired with the integral gas block cycles reliably in this short format, making it a solid suppressor host.
It takes standard AR-15 pattern magazines, so PMAGs, aluminum GI mags, and just about anything else built to spec will run in it. One 30-round magazine is included in the box, giving you a 30+1 capacity right out of the gate.
