It cradles all six .41 Rem Mag cartridges in one unit, and a single twist of the knurled metal knob releases them into the chambers at once. This one belongs to HKS's "M" Series, and that letter matters. The M models are built to work with a little cartridge jiggle, meaning the rounds have some intentional play so they line up and drop clean even if the loader and cylinder are not perfectly indexed. It sounds like a small thing, but under stress or in the dark it makes reloads a lot more forgiving. The twist-knob release is the same proven design HKS has been turning out for decades, and plenty of longtime revolver folks will tell you these things just keep working year after year.
The 57M is cut for the Smith & Wesson Model 57 and Model 58 N-frames, along with Ruger large-frame .41 Magnum cylinders. One thing worth checking before you buy: oversized or aftermarket grips can sometimes crowd the loader and keep the rounds from dropping free. If your revolver wears chunky target grips, you may need to trim or swap them so the loader clears on release. Stock grips generally give you all the room you need.
