There is a reason the P30 has been trusted by police agencies across Europe since 2006, and the P30S V3 might be the most versatile way to own one. The S in the name means you get an ambidextrous manual thumb safety on top of the standard rear decocking button, and the V3 designation means a traditional double action/single action trigger. Put those together and you can run this pistol cocked and locked like a 1911, or decock it and carry hammer down with a deliberate double action first pull. Very few production handguns give you both options in one package.
HK went further than most with the P30 grip system. Instead of just swappable backstraps, you also get interchangeable lateral grip panels, which adds up to a wide range of possible configurations.
