It's a straightforward upgrade that can make an older wheelgun feel a whole lot more shootable.
Hi-Viz builds this one on a solid steel base with their clear resin overmolding, so it's tough enough for regular carry, holster wear, and cleaning solvents. The LitePipe uses a square profile instead of the usual round rod, which helps it gather light and show up brighter to your eye. The installed sight height sits at .269 inches above the barrel, and the LitePipe measures .090 inches in diameter, keeping the profile low and the sight picture clean.
This sight is made for S&W K, L, and N frame revolvers with a 2.5-inch or longer barrel, an adjustable rear sight, and a pinned front sight. That covers popular models like the 66, 67, 686, 696, 625, 657, and 629, along with the 317 in a 3-inch barrel. Classic Series and Performance Center guns are the exception here, so those won't work with this particular sight.
Because pin locations vary from model to model, this is a pinned front sight that needs to be fit and drilled for the retaining pin during installation. It's a job most gunsmiths handle quickly, and once it's set you're left with a durable, bright reference point that should give you years of service. If you've been squinting at your factory sight, this is the kind of small change that pays off every time you draw down on a target.
