When the birds are hanging out at the far edge of the decoys and won't commit, an extended-range choke can be the difference between a clean fold and a wave goodbye. The HEVI-Shot Hevi-Choke Waterfowl Optima Plus is built for exactly that kind of shooting: long, going-away birds where you need every pellet you can get on target. It's a single ported tube cut from 17-4 stainless steel with a matte black finish, tuned to pattern HEVI-Shot waterfowl ammo tight and dense out past 40 yards.
HEVI-Shot builds these gun-specific rather than one-size-fits-all, so the constriction is dialed in for the Beretta Optima Plus bore. The porting up front bleeds off gas pressure at the muzzle, which helps ease the wad away from the shot column and takes a little bite out of recoil and muzzle jump. There are internal axial rings inside the tube designed to hold the shot cloud together downrange, which is where the extended-range performance really shows up on paper.
The knurled fore-end is a small thing that makes a big difference on a cold morning in the blind. You can swap tubes by hand with numb fingers and leave the choke wrench in the truck. It threads into the Beretta Optima Plus platform, which covers the Model 301, Extrema, and Silver Pigeon II and III among others in that Optima Plus family.
This is an extended-range tube, so keep your load selection sensible. It's designed around HEVI-Shot's high-density and steel waterfowl loads, but the tighter constrictions aren't meant for oversized steel or extremely fast loads. If you're throwing big steel or running hot velocities, a mid-range tube is the better call. Pair this one with the right shell and you've got a serious reach-out setup for late-season ducks and geese.
It threads into Beretta shotguns that use the Optima Plus choke system, which covers models like the 301, Extrema, and Silver Pigeon II and III. If your barrel is marked Optima Plus, this tube will drop right in. Check your barrel or owner's manual if you're not sure which system your gun uses.

This tube is tuned for HEVI-Shot's high-density waterfowl loads and works with steel, but tighter extended-range constrictions aren't the right home for oversized steel or extremely fast loads. If you're shooting large steel pellets or hot velocities, a mid-range choke is the smarter choice. Matching the load to the constriction keeps your patterns clean and your barrel happy.
