Loading is done through the tubular magazine under the barrel. Twist and pull the inner magazine tube partway out, drop rounds into the loading port, then slide the tube back in and lock it. It takes a few seconds longer than a detachable magazine, but it keeps the rifle's clean, traditional lines.
