The tubular magazine holds 16 rounds of .22 LR or 21 rounds of .22 Short, and it will happily digest .22 Long too, which makes it a great match for whatever rimfire ammo you have on the shelf. Sights are classic Henry: a brass bead up front and a fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear with a diamond insert. If you want glass, the receiver comes drilled and tapped for Henry's cantilever scope mount. Yes. The receiver comes drilled and tapped from the factory, and Henry offers a cantilever scope mount (GB-CSM) made for the Golden Boy line. Plenty of owners run a compact rimfire scope while keeping the semi-buckhorn irons as a backup.
It is chambered for .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle, and you can mix them in the tube magazine. Capacity is 16 rounds of .22 LR or 21 rounds of .22 Short. The 1:16 twist barrel handles all three well, which makes it a flexible choice for plinking and small game.
The standard Golden Boy wears a brass-toned Brasslite receiver, while the Silver version uses a nickel-plated receiver, barrel band, and buttplate for a brighter, tarnish-resistant look. This particular H004SL also adds the oversized large loop lever, which the base Silver model does not have. Mechanically they share the same smooth Henry action and octagon barrel.
Yes. Like all Henry lever actions, the H004SL is fully ambidextrous with a straight-grip stock and centered controls. Left-handed folks can run it comfortably and safely without any modifications.
