Description
Griffin Armament has been building suppressors since 2005, and the Dual-Lok 5 AM is where all that experience meets modern manufacturing. Instead of machining and welding traditional components, Griffin prints this can in-house using DMLS additive manufacturing and their proprietary Nickel 625X superalloy. In testing, that alloy showed roughly a 68 percent bump in yield and tensile strength over printed Inconel 625 at 1200 degrees, which is the same material family found in current military suppressors. Translation: this thing shrugs off heat and hard use that would wear down lesser cans.
What Makes the Dual-Lok 5 AM Different
The baffle stack is a managed backpressure design, sitting in the sweet spot between a conventional stack and a full low-backpressure unit. You get serious sound and flash reduction without dumping a bunch of gas back through your receiver, so your AR cycles cleaner and you spend less time breathing your own muzzle blast. The flash hider end cap vents gases peripherally, softening recoil impulse and cutting wear on the host gun. Griffin has called this the highest performing 5.56 silencer they have ever tested, and it carries no minimum barrel length restriction, so it is fair game on short pinned builds and full-length rifles alike.
The Dual-Lok Mounting System, Built Right In
The Dual-Lok mount was originally developed for hostage rescue units that wanted a fast, accurate attachment with an active physical lock. A precision taper keeps point of impact shift minimal and repeatable, an ACME thread spins on quick, and the spring-tensioned locking collar with anti-rotation teeth means the can stays put through long strings of fire. There are no ratcheting wear parts to maintain, ever.
This FDE model measures 1.50 inches in diameter and ships with a 1/2×28 Dual-Lok EZ-Brake, so it is ready to run on a standard-threaded 5.56 barrel right out of the box. It also works with the rest of Griffin's Dual-Lok muzzle device lineup, minus the over-the-barrel PSR devices.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the Dual-Lok 5 AM and the original Dual-Lok 5?
The original Dual-Lok 5 is machined from 17-4 stainless and 718 Inconel, while the AM version is 3D printed from Griffin's Nickel 625X superalloy, which tested about 68 percent stronger than printed Inconel 625 at 1200 degrees. The AM also gets an updated baffle design and a peripherally vented flash hider end cap that cuts backpressure further. Griffin considers it the best performing 5.56 can they have made.
Does the Dual-Lok 5 AM come with a muzzle device?
Yes, it ships with a Dual-Lok EZ-Brake in 1/2×28 thread pitch plus a suppressor pouch. That means it will mount right up to a standard-threaded 5.56 barrel without any extra purchases. If you run multiple rifles, additional Dual-Lok muzzle devices are available separately so you can swap the can between hosts in seconds.
Is there a minimum barrel length for the Dual-Lok 5 AM suppressor?
No. Griffin puts no minimum barrel length restrictions on their Dual-Lok suppressors, so you can run this can on short-barreled 5.56 builds without worry. Longer barrels do promote longer service life, but the Nickel 625X construction is built to take the extra heat and pressure that comes with shorter barrels.
Will this suppressor loosen up during long strings of fire?
That is exactly what the Dual-Lok mount was designed to prevent. A spring-tensioned locking collar with anti-rotation teeth physically locks the can to the muzzle device, so it will not back off even under sustained fire. The system has no ratcheting wear parts, and the precision taper keeps point of impact shift minimal and repeatable every time you reattach it.
