Description

Griffin Armament basically invented the modular length pistol suppressor with the original Revolution 9 and 45, and just about every configurable pistol can on the market since owes something to that design. The MOD 4 Revolution 45 is a full redesign built around years of user feedback, and it shows in the little details. You can swap between the full-size and shorty K configuration with no tools at all, thanks to a forward-positioned extension that spins off by hand. O-rings keep the extension and front cap from backing off under recoil, and the booster housing is permanently installed so it stays put when you mount or dismount the can.

What Makes the Revolution 45 MOD 4 Different

The big story here is Griffin's patented CARBON-GARD baffle technology. It seals the baffle stack against the tube so lead and carbon can't pack into that gap, which is exactly what turns older pistol cans into stuck messes after a few thousand rounds. Cleaning gets easier and maintenance intervals stretch way out. The MOD 4 also ships with Griffin's EZ-LOK piston, which pairs with EZ-LOK barrel adapters (sold separately) for a mounting setup that's far more secure and repeatable than a standard direct-thread piston. If you've ever felt a pistol can start walking loose mid-magazine, you'll appreciate that.

A .45 Can That Earns Its Keep on More Than Pistols

This suppressor is rated for pistol calibers and subsonic loads up to .458 diameter, so it covers everything from .45 ACP pistols and PCCs to subsonic .45-70 and 300 Blackout when running a fixed mount. There's no minimum barrel length restriction, and it carries a full-auto rating for 60 rounds before cooling. The aluminum and stainless steel construction keeps weight down, running about 10.5 ounces in the short setup and 12 ounces at full length, all inside a 1.375 inch tube. Griffin builds these in Watertown, Wisconsin and stands behind them with a lifetime warranty, which is the kind of backing you want on a can you plan to run hard for decades.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Revolution 45 MOD 4 attach directly to a threaded barrel?

The included EZ-LOK piston is designed to work with an EZ-LOK barrel adapter, which is sold separately and installs on your host's threaded barrel. Griffin recommends this setup because it holds noticeably tighter than a traditional direct-thread piston on a tilt-barrel pistol. If you prefer, standard direct-thread pistons are available separately and drop right into the booster housing.

Can I use the Revolution 45 MOD 4 on 9mm or other smaller calibers?

Yes. Since it's a .45 caliber bore, it will happily run smaller pistol calibers like 9mm and .40 S&W with the appropriate piston for your barrel threads. You give up a touch of sound performance versus a dedicated 9mm can, but the versatility of covering multiple hosts with one suppressor is a big part of the appeal.

Is the Revolution 45 MOD 4 rated for rifles?

It's rated for subsonic rifle loads up to .458 diameter, including subsonic .45-70 and 300 Blackout, but only when using a fixed mount like a fixed barrel spacer, Griffin's 3-lug mount, or a Plan-A taper mount adapter. There's no minimum barrel length restriction, and it carries a full-auto rating of 60 rounds before cooling.

What changed between the MOD 3 and MOD 4 Revolution 45?

The MOD 4 is a complete redesign. Length changes are now tool-less thanks to a forward extension, O-rings keep the extension and front cap from loosening, and the booster housing is permanently installed so it can't back out when you unthread the can. The biggest upgrade is CARBON-GARD baffle tech, which seals fouling out of the tube and stretches out cleaning intervals, and Griffin says the tone is noticeably deeper and more pleasant than previous generations.
