There is a reason the Stribog name comes up in just about every pistol caliber carbine conversation, and the SP9A3 in this 16 inch carbine setup shows why. Grand Power builds these in Slovakia with a roller-delayed action that takes the harsh snap out of straight blowback 9mm guns. The bolt stays semi-locked at ignition, so recoil feels softer, muzzle rise stays flat, and follow-up shots come fast. Add the non-reciprocating charging handle that stays parked forward while you fire, and you get a carbine that runs smooth without anything moving where your hand does not want it to.
The receiver is machined aluminum up top with a polymer lower, keeping weight sensible for a full-length PCC. The 16 inch barrel comes threaded 1/2×28 with a thread protector installed, so hanging your favorite 9mm suppressor or muzzle device is a five minute job. A full-length 1913 Picatinny rail runs across the top for optics, flip-up iron sights come standard, and the M-LOK handguard gives you real estate for lights, hand stops, or whatever else your range setup calls for. Controls are properly ambidextrous too, with a bolt lock and release plus a safety lever accessible from either side.
The side folding polymer stock locks up solid for shooting and folds flat for storage or transport, which makes this thing surprisingly easy to tuck into a range bag or truck safe. The trigger is a Mil-Spec AR pattern, so upgrading it down the road is simple and the pull feels familiar from the first shot. Grand Power ships this one generously as well, with three 30-round magazines and a fitted hard case in the box.
Cheap 9mm ammo, mild recoil, and a reputation for eating everything you feed it make this an easy carbine to shoot a lot. Whether you are chasing PCC match times, training on a budget, or just want a fun gun that suppresses beautifully, the SP9A3 in FDE checks the boxes without any drama.
No, this model runs Grand Power's proprietary Stribog magazines, and three 30-rounders come in the box. If Glock mag compatibility matters to you, that is the SP9A3G variant, which is a separate model. The factory Stribog mags are well regarded and affordable enough to stock up on.
It is. The 16 inch barrel is threaded 1/2×28, which is the standard pitch for most 9mm suppressors and muzzle devices, and a thread protector comes installed. The roller-delayed action also tends to run cleaner and softer suppressed than a straight blowback gun.
Straight blowback 9mm carbines rely on a heavy bolt slamming back and forth, which makes them snappy for the caliber. The SP9A3's semi-locked bolt uses a transfer roller to delay opening, so the bolt can be lighter and the recoil impulse feels noticeably softer. That translates to a flatter shooting gun and quicker follow-up shots.
Yes, the aluminum upper receiver has a full-length 1913 Picatinny rail, so red dots, LPVOs, and magnifier combos all mount easily. Flip-up iron sights are included and can co-witness with most red dots. The M-LOK handguard handles lights and other accessories.
