The Glock 45 has always been the crossover pistol that makes sense on paper and even more sense in your hands. You get the full-size frame of a G17, which means a complete grip with 17+1 capacity, matched to a shorter G19 length slide that clears the holster faster and rides easier against your side. Military and law enforcement input shaped this design, and it shows in how naturally the gun points and balances.
The V-Series is Glock's newest evolution of the platform. It keeps everything people liked about the Gen5 lineup, including the ambidextrous slide stop, flared magwell, finger-groove-free grip, and the accurate Glock Marksman Barrel, while adding a redesigned internal system built for improved safety and performance. One thing worth knowing is that V-Series internal parts are their own thing and don't interchange with older generation Glocks, so this is a genuinely updated pistol rather than a rebadge.
Plenty of pistols call themselves optic ready and then hand you a pile of plates. This one skips all that. The slide wears a custom milled optic cut with a Vortex Defender red dot already mounted, so your dot sits low and locks up solid with no adapter stack in between. The slide is finished in durable black Cerakote for a clean, uniform look that holds up to holster wear and rough weather.
Between the mounted Vortex Defender, three included 17-round magazines, and Austrian-built Glock reliability underneath it all, there's very little left to buy before your first range trip. Confirm your zero, run a few boxes of your preferred 9mm, and this pistol is set for home defense, duty work, or everyday carry with a red dot from day one. For anyone who has been waiting for a turnkey red dot Glock without piecing it together themselves, this is the shortcut.
The V-Series keeps the Gen5 features people like, including the ambidextrous slide stop, flared magwell, smooth grip without finger grooves, and the Glock Marksman Barrel. Under the hood, it uses a redesigned internal system aimed at improved safety and performance. Keep in mind that V-Series internal parts are not cross-compatible with older generation Glocks.
Yes, the Vortex Defender red dot arrives mounted to a custom milled cut in the slide, so there are no adapter plates to fuss with. The direct milled setup keeps the dot sitting low and secure. You'll still want to confirm zero with your preferred ammo before relying on it.
This package ships with three 17-round magazines, which is one more than a lot of pistols include. That gives you 17+1 on board plus two full reloads without buying anything extra. Standard G17-pattern magazines feed the full-size frame.
It's a crossover design, meaning it pairs the shorter G19 length slide with a full-size G17 frame. The compact slide makes the draw quicker and holstering easier, while the longer grip gives your whole hand purchase and full 17-round capacity. Plenty of people carry it daily, and it doubles nicely as a home defense or duty gun.
