Glock building compensated pistols from the factory again is a big deal, and the G45C Gen5 V might be the best way to get in on it. This one takes the crossover layout people love, a compact 4.02 inch slide riding on a full-size grip frame, and adds ported cuts in the barrel and slide that vent gas upward at the muzzle. The result is noticeably less muzzle flip and quicker sight recovery between shots, all without hanging an aftermarket comp off the end of your gun. The full-length grip still feeds 17-round magazines, and Glock includes three of them in the case.
The V designation means this is built on Glock's newest platform, with updated internals including revised trigger bar geometry and a redesigned rear slide plate, layered on top of everything Gen5 got right. You still get the Glock Marksman Barrel with its improved rifling for tighter groups, front slide serrations for positive press checks, an ambidextrous slide stop, a flared magwell that makes reloads more forgiving, and interchangeable backstraps so you can dial in the grip. The slide wears Glock's tough nDLC finish, which shrugs off wear and corrosion better than the older coatings, and fixed sights with a white dot front keep the sight picture simple and fast.
The standard G45 earned its keep as a do-it-all pistol, short enough up front to carry comfortably while giving your whole hand something to hold onto. The compensated version keeps all of that and makes it flatter shooting, which pays off in fast strings at the range, in training classes, or anywhere controllability matters. The Safe Action system works exactly like every other Glock, so there is nothing new to learn, and the accessory rail is ready for a light. These C models are distributor exclusives rather than standard catalog guns, so they tend not to sit around long. If a factory-comped Glock has been on your list, this is the crossover version worth grabbing.
The C stands for compensated. The barrel and slide have factory-machined ports that vent gas upward when you fire, which pushes the muzzle down and cuts felt muzzle rise. Glock offered C models years ago, and the V Series brings them back as distributor exclusives in 9mm.

Yes. It uses the same full-size 9mm magazines as the G45 and G17, so 17-round factory mags and higher-capacity options drop right in. It ships with three 17-round magazines, so you have a solid start out of the box.
Not really. The ports will collect some carbon, so give the barrel and slide cuts a little extra attention during your normal cleaning routine. There is no separate compensator to remove or re-time since everything is machined into the barrel and slide from the factory.
