The G47 has a backstory that sets it apart from most pistols on the shelf. Originally developed in 2019 for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the G47 was built to share parts and slide interchangeability with both the G19 Gen5 and G45, giving large agencies the ability to run a simplified parts inventory across multiple pistol sizes. That same modularity carries over to civilian ownership. If you already run a G19 Gen5 or G45, the G47 frame accepts their slides and barrel assemblies without modification, which opens up a genuine mix-and-match capability that very few platforms offer.
This D.O.G.E. variant wraps all of that in a full Glamour Glock Gold Cerakote finish on both the frame and serrated steel slide, with D.O.G.E. themed markings referencing the Department of Government Efficiency. It is a limited-edition piece that doubles as a fully functional, range-ready pistol. The MOS cut slide is precision machined from the factory for direct optic mounting, and one adapter plate is included to get you started.
On the performance side, the Glock Marksman Barrel brings polygonal rifling with a tighter chamber and target-style crown that consistently produces tighter groups compared to older Glock barrels. The Gen5 trigger is an improvement over previous generations, with a cleaner wall before the break. Front and rear slide serrations make press checks and one-handed manipulations easier, and the flared magwell speeds up reloads without being bulky. The finger groove-free frontstrap combined with two included backstrap sizes means the grip fits a wider range of hands right out of the box. The G47 and G17 are nearly identical in overall size, but the G47 has a shortened dust cover on the frame, which is what allows it to share slide assemblies with the Gen5 G19 and G45. That cross-compatibility is the G47's biggest advantage over the G17. Internally, the G47 uses the G19 locking block and recoil spring, so you can swap slides between all three platforms without any tools or modifications.
Yes, this D.O.G.E. model ships with one MOS adapter plate. The included plate covers one of the most common optic footprints, but if your red dot uses a different mounting pattern, additional plates are available from Glock and from third-party manufacturers like CHPWS and Forward Controls Design. The MOS system supports a wide range of popular mini red dots.
Because the G47 has the same slide length and overall dimensions as the G17, most holsters made for the G17 Gen5 will fit the G47 properly. Many major holster manufacturers including Safariland list G17 Gen5 compatibility, which crosses over to the G47. If you plan to run a weapon light, just make sure the holster is rated for your specific light model as well.
The Glamour Glock Gold finish is a Cerakote application, which is one of the most durable firearm coatings available. Cerakote is known for excellent resistance to corrosion, abrasion, and chemicals, so this pistol holds up to regular range use just as well as any standard Glock finish. It is not a paint or anodizing process, so wear concerns associated with those methods do not apply here.
The G47 uses standard Glock 17-round 9mm magazines, the same ones that fit the G17 and G34 Gen5. It ships with three 17-round magazines. The G47 frame is also compatible with extended Glock magazines, and many aftermarket options in both flush-fit and extended capacities will work as well.
The GMB features more aggressive polygonal rifling, a tighter chamber specification, and a precision-machined target-style crown at the muzzle. Together these contribute to better bullet stability and more consistent performance shot to shot compared to earlier Glock barrel designs.
