Description

Bullpup shotguns solve a real problem: you want a full-length barrel for pattern and velocity, but you do not want to swing a 40 inch gun around a doorframe. The GForce GFY-1 puts the action and magazine behind the trigger, so you get an 18.5 inch barrel in a package that measures just 28.5 inches from muzzle to buttpad. That is only a couple inches longer than a Shockwave, except this one has a proper stock, a 5+1 capacity, and cycles on its own so you can keep your eyes on target instead of working a pump.

What Makes the GFY-1 Worth a Look

This is a gas-operated semi-auto with a 3 inch chamber that digests both 2 3/4 and 3 inch 12 gauge loads. It feeds from detachable box magazines and plays nice with MKA-1919 and AR-12 pattern mags, including drums, so bumping up capacity is as easy as buying more magazines. One 5-round mag ships with the gun. The barrel is threaded for Benelli Mobil pattern chokes, and a modified tube comes installed, which is a sensible middle-of-the-road choice for buckshot patterning and general range work.

Sights, Rails, and the Bronze Finish

Flip-up front and rear sights come standard and fold flat when you do not need them. The full-length top Picatinny rail is ready for a red dot or reflex sight, which is where this gun really shines for quick target pickup, and the bottom rail handles a light or vertical grip. The aluminum receiver wears a burnt bronze Cerakote finish over a matching bronze polymer bullpup stock, so it stands out from the sea of all-black defensive shotguns while adding real corrosion resistance.

At 7.7 pounds, it has enough heft to soak up 12 gauge recoil, and holding the gun closer to your body makes it feel more controllable than the numbers suggest.
