The Geissele Super Gas Block is one of those parts you install once and never think about again, which is exactly what you want out of a gas block. It fits .750 barrel journals, the most common diameter on AR-15 and AR-10 barrels, and its low-profile shape slides right under most free-floating handguards and rails. Geissele builds it by precision investment casting 17-4 precipitation hardening stainless steel, then finishing it in Black Nitride, so you get serious corrosion resistance and the strength to keep cycling long after cheaper blocks would start giving you trouble.
Most gas blocks give you set screws and call it a day. Geissele includes two set screws for the standard install, which handles the vast majority of builds when you back them up with a drop of red thread locker. But the real party trick is what Geissele calls the Bombproof Installation. Using the included coil pin, you can pin the block directly to the barrel so it physically cannot slide or rotate no matter how hard you run the gun. For duty rifles, suppressed setups, or any build that sees real heat and abuse, that peace of mind is hard to beat.
Gas port alignment is where a lot of builds go sideways, and a misaligned block means an unreliable rifle. Geissele tackles that by including a stainless steel dowel pin that lets you line the block up perfectly to their cold hammer forged barrels, taking the guesswork out of matching the gas port. Even on other barrels, the closed-front, tight-tolerance bore helps everything sit where it should.
At roughly an ounce and a half, it stays out of the way and keeps your build light. Whether you're assembling a precision carbine, a mid-length range gun, or a rifle you plan to lean on hard, the Super Gas Block is the kind of foundational part that earns its keep.
The low-profile design is built specifically to clear most free-floating handguards and rails, including Geissele's own Super Modular Rail. Its slim closed-front shape keeps it tucked out of the way. As always, double check your rail's inner diameter and gas block clearance spec if you're running something particularly tight.
It's machined to fit .750 inch gas block journals, which is the most common diameter on AR-15 and AR-10 barrels. If your barrel measures .750 at the gas port area, you're good to go. It is a non-adjustable block, so it's meant to be paired with a properly sized gas port.
Bombproof is Geissele's pinned install method that uses the included coil pin to lock the block directly to the barrel. Once pinned, the block physically cannot slide or rotate under any operating conditions. It's a great option for hard-use, duty, or suppressed builds, though the standard two set screw install with thread locker works perfectly for most users.
The standard set screw install just needs the correct hex wrench and a drop of red thread locker for security. If you go the Bombproof pinned route, you'll want a drill and the proper bit to install the coil pin, so that method is best handled by someone comfortable with barrel work. The included alignment pin makes lining up to Geissele cold hammer forged barrels quick and painless.
