If you've been wanting to step away from a polymer-framed striker-fired pistol without giving up the convenience of Glock-compatible magazines, the Fusion XF PRO is exactly the kind of gun that makes you do a double-take at the price tag. Fusion Firearms built this in collaboration with Ermox, and the result is a compact, all-metal 9mm that punches well above its weight class in terms of features and feel. The 7075 aluminum frame is CNC-machined from bar-stock, not cast, and it shows in the fit and finish. The slide carries the same Tennifer treatment as the barrel, giving the whole gun a consistent, corrosion-resistant surface that holds up over time.
The ergonomics here are one of the biggest talking points. The frame borrows from CZ-style geometry with a higher grip angle and a beavertail that takes pressure off your hand during longer sessions. There's a machined-in thumb rest on the left side for right-handed shooters, Sure Grip checkering throughout, and large, easy-to-manipulate takedown levers that make field stripping noticeably less of a chore compared to a standard Glock setup. The flat-face competition trigger comes from the factory with a clean break and a pull weight around 4.5 lbs, and it responds well to use. The slide features pro serrations front and rear, window cuts that let you see the fluted barrel underneath, and an optic cut that ships with both RMR and RMS/C plates so you're not guessing about footprint compatibility.
The heavier non-reciprocating mass of the aluminum frame genuinely softens felt recoil compared to a polymer gun of the same size. At 26.5 oz unloaded, the XF PRO is a bit heavier than a Glock 19, but that extra weight pays dividends when you're running follow-up shots. The full-metal Glock-compatible recoil system and the fluted barrel contribute to smooth, consistent cycling. One detail worth noting: only the magazine catch is polymer, specifically designed that way to reduce wear on Glock-pattern magazines. Everything else is metal. The pistol also includes a cocking indicator on the rear of the slide, a simple but practical addition that lets you know the striker is ready without any guesswork.
This 10-round configuration is the same gun in every other way, just set up for areas where standard-capacity magazines are restricted. Two 10-round Glock-compatible magazines and both optic mounting plates are included.
Not really, and that distinction matters. The XF PRO shares a small number of components with Glock, primarily the barrel, recoil assembly, and magazine interface, but the rest of the design is unique to the XF PRO platform. The frame geometry, ergonomics, slide design, and trigger system are all proprietary. Calling it a Glock clone would be like calling any aluminum-framed pistol a 1911.
The slide ships with two mounting plates covering the RMR footprint and the RMS/C footprint, which opens up compatibility with optics from Trijicon, Vortex, Holosun, Meopta, Truglo, Docter, and Insight, among others. Keep in mind the optic sits somewhat higher on the plate system than on a milled slide, so you may want to factor in your iron sight height if you plan to use the fixed sights as a backup.
Yes. The XF PRO is built around Glock-pattern magazine compatibility, so Glock 17 and Glock 19 style magazines generally function well. Many aftermarket Glock-compatible magazines also work. This 10-round version ships with two 10-round Glock-compatible magazines.
The heavier aluminum frame adds a noticeable difference in felt recoil. Because the non-reciprocating mass of the frame is greater relative to the moving slide, the gun tends to track flatter and feel softer in the hand than a lighter polymer pistol of the same size. Multiple range reports describe it as surprisingly soft-shooting for a compact 9mm, especially with lighter loads.
Not directly. The machined thumb rest on the left side of the frame changes the profile enough that most standard Glock 19-pattern holsters won't accommodate the XF PRO properly. You'll want to look for holsters made specifically for the XF PRO or have one custom-made by a Kydex maker using the actual pistol as a mold.
The factory trigger pull comes in around 4.5 lbs. It's a flat-face design with a trigger safety, a defined take-up before the wall, and a relatively clean break for a striker-fired pistol. Reset is usable and allows for faster follow-up shots once you've dialed it in. For most uses, it's a solid out-of-the-box trigger.
