The Franklin Armory CA11 does something you don't see every day. It takes the familiar AR pistol layout and builds it as a bolt action repeater, so you cycle each round manually with the standard charging handle. If you've spent any time behind an AR, everything about this pistol will feel like home. The controls, the grip angle, the sight height, the magazine change, all of it carries over. The only difference is you rack the charging handle between shots, and after a magazine or two that motion becomes second nature.
The .300 Blackout cartridge was built to perform out of short barrels, and the CA11's 11.5 inch medium contour barrel with a 1:8 twist gets the most out of it. Supersonic loads hit with real authority at practical distances, and heavy subsonic rounds stabilize nicely for quiet range sessions. The Triumvir muzzle device caps things off, and the salt bath nitride bolt carrier shrugs off carbon and wipes clean without much fuss. Franklin Armory finished the aluminum upper and lower in hardcoat anodizing, so the whole package is built to take honest use.
The flat top receiver ships optic ready, so you can mount a red dot, LPVO, or magnifier combo right out of the box. The 11.5 inch FSR handguard gives you M-LOK real estate for a light, hand stop, or sling mount, and the Ergo ambidextrous SureGrip is comfortable whether you shoot right or left handed. Out back, the pistol buffer tube wears a foam cheek pad that gives you a consistent reference point for a solid cheek weld.
Feeding comes from an included 10 round Magpul magazine, and the deliberate pace of a bolt action repeater has a way of making every trigger press count. It is a genuinely fun way to shoot .300 Blackout, and a great trainer for building smooth, repeatable fundamentals on the AR platform.

Very well, since .300 Blackout was designed from the start to burn its powder in short barrels. Supersonic loads in the 110 to 125 grain range deliver strong terminal performance at practical distances, and the 1:8 twist also stabilizes heavy 200 grain plus subsonic loads. It's one of the best caliber choices you can make for a barrel this length.
It ships with one 10-round Magpul magazine and feeds from standard AR-15 pattern magazines. Magazine changes work exactly like they do on any AR, using the familiar mag release and bolt catch layout.
