It's a .264 diameter inside neck reamer that mounts in the cutter of a Forster Case Trimmer, taking the place of the standard pilot, and it shaves away the excess brass sitting on the inside of your case necks. Thick necks can bump up chamber pressure and throw unexplained flyers, so getting that wall uniform is a real step toward predictable loads.

What the #263 Reamer Actually Does to Your Brass

This reamer is ground roughly .0025 to .003 inch over maximum bullet diameter, so it opens the inside of the neck to a consistent dimension across every piece of brass you run through it. The staggered tooth design is the part that makes it pleasant to use. Instead of grabbing and chattering as it bites in, it cuts the brass smoothly and leaves a clean inner wall. That consistency is what helps even out neck tension and tighten up concentricity on your finished rounds.

The trimmer itself is sold separately, so this is an accessory for folks who already run that system or are building it out. Timing-wise, neck reaming is meant to be done after your brass has been fired with a full load and before you move on to neck or full-length sizing. Drop it into the cutter in place of the pilot, turn the assembly until the reamer passes all the way through the neck, and you're set.
