The frame is where FN put serious thought in. The multi-faceted, in-mold stippled grip isn't just texture for texture's sake, it's aggressive enough to stay planted in a fast draw but won't tear up your skin or your clothing when you're carrying all day. A deep beavertail allows a high grip on the frame, which does real work for recoil management on a gun this light. The undercut trigger guard and palm swell keep things consistent across different hand sizes, and the reversible magazine release is a welcome touch. Up front, the slide has front and rear serrations that give you something to actually grab, and the racking force is noticeably low thanks to the hammer-fired design.

This specific model is the NMS (Non-Manual Safety) version, meaning there is no external manual safety lever.
