The FN 510 Tactical is essentially the FN 509 Tactical grown up and chambered for 10mm Auto, sharing the same proven layout but scaled up to handle the added energy of the cartridge. At 32 ounces unloaded and 8.3 inches overall, it sits right in that comfortable full-size range that makes it easy to shoot hard and shoot well. The 4.71-inch cold hammer-forged barrel is target crowned for long-term accuracy, and the .578×28 threading means you can throw a suppressor or compensator on without sending it to a gunsmith.
The slide is milled to accept most major red dot footprints using the included mounting plates, covering everything from the Trijicon RMR and SRO to Holosun 507/508, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, and Vortex Venom, among others. No cutting, no extra charge. The suppressor-height Tritium lamp dovetail night sights co-witness with most micro red dots and feature the distinctive protective ears carried over from the 509 Tactical line. Out at the range, the trigger breaks at roughly 5.5 to 7.7 lbs with a short reset, and the polished feed ramp has proven to run everything from 180-grain FMJ practice ammo to full-power 200-grain JHP defensive loads without complaint.
The frame is where FN put a lot of thought into making 10mm actually manageable. The grip uses three different texture zones to keep things planted under recoil, and the interchangeable backstraps let you dial in the fit. The slide is cut with FN's low-profile optics mounting system and ships with four mounting plates that cover most major footprints, including the Trijicon RMR and SRO, Holosun 507 and 508, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, Vortex Venom, Viper and Razor, C-More STS2, and Burris FastFire. The ACRO footprint plate is sold separately.

The 66-101377 version is configured for markets where magazine capacity is restricted, shipping with two 10-round magazines instead of the 15- and 22-round magazines that come with the standard capacity variant. Higher-capacity magazines compatible with this frame are available separately.

No manual safety is included. The 510 Tactical uses an integrated trigger safety, similar to the articulated trigger found on other FN striker-fired pistols. The ambidextrous slide stop and magazine release are the primary external controls. If you're coming from the FN 509 family, the control layout will feel immediately familiar.
